In the recent renovations and alterations, the present owners caused the area beyond the original fireplace to be entirely reconstructed.

The very first oak screen that one passes, has been reproduced to the rear of the reception desk and such new oak screen, the reception desk itself and the display cabinet opposite, have all been made from hand carved oak mouldings scaled down from the originals.

The same slavish attention to detail has been carried through to the bar beyond. The effect is stunning and timelessly elegant and wholly in keeping with the original parts of the house. It is as if it has always been as one sees it now.
