Venue

The supreme elegance of the late Victorian age has been maximised to create the pre-eminent Scottish and Ayrshire Wedding venue. Featuring all the history and traditional features of a Scottish castle, yet more comfortable, more elegant and far more suited to be the perfect wedding venue. From the moment you enter through the ancient wrought iron gates and travel the winding drive through some of Scotland’s oldest hardwoods, you are taken back to an age of splendour and privilege.

The magnificent frontage is then seen to maximum advantage and unlike other Scottish wedding venues, it does not advertise its presence as an hotel. To all appearances it is in effect a Victorian Baronial Mansion solely preserved for you and your intended, to enjoy the most important day of your lives.

Moorpark House is unique as a wedding venue for the following reasons:-

  • It is in effect a pocket sized stately home but with a tremendously warm feel heightened by operational log fires
  • It is of a size where for the vast majority of weddings exclusivity is practical thereby affording total privacy
  • It is roughly midway between Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick Airports  - 20 minutes from the former and 30 minutes from the latter - and just at the end of the M8 and therefore extremely easy to access
  • It has been the subject of a recent multi million pound program of refurbishment and extension and therefore still feels fresh and new
  • It's hotel licence was only granted in 2007 and therefore and despite having been built in 1860 complies with all modern day Building Regulations meaning arrangements for the disabled are catered for -  lift, easy access both front and rear and disabled toilet on the ground floor.
  • The hotel has an arrangement with Menzies Hotel in Irvine - only 15 minutes from the Ryanair served Glasgow Prestwick Airport - which is 4 star and has 123 rooms whereby room rates are pegged at a maximum of £65 and where shuttle arrangements between Menzies and Moorpark House can be arranged thereby making weddings for "Southerners" a very feasible and financially attractive proposition. The owner of the hotel is from London and is well aware of the, by comparison, extremely high rates charged for weddings there.
  • The juxtaposition of the rooms on the ground floor means that the weddings flow so well as is evidenced by the testimonials on the website - please refer to the Testimonials section
  • The photographic opportunities are excellent both inside and out which means that if, due to the inclemency of the Scottish weather, outside shots become impossible the day is not spoiled
  • Moorpark House is licensed for both civil and religious weddings to be conducted on the premises
